Transfer of Ownership takes place approximately within two (2) weeks of receipt of the correct paperwork and payment. Once this is done, your Transfer of Ownership confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail, fax or letter. This Transfer of Ownership confirmation is the official document recording you as the new legal owner of the pertinent unit/week while supplying you with your contract number and other important information.
Share Certificate: Share Certificates are issued based on the information received on the Transfer of Ownership request form. Therefore, it is important to write clearly on the transfer of ownership form to avoid misinterpretations. Your new Share Certificate takes about two (2) months to be ready. Once it's ready, we can either mail it to you by registered mail or we can keep it safely here for you to pick it up personally during your next visit. Upon receipt of your Transfer of Ownership confirmation, please let us know which option you prefer.
Membership card: First time owners, please pass by the Members Relations Department located in the Member's Lounge to pick up your picture owner's identification card. Our office hours are from Monday through Saturday, from 9:15 a.m. through 4: p.m. We are closed for lunch between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Please present a valid government identification (driver's license or passport) to request your membership card. Owner's ID cards are issued only once and for only one contract as it is valid year round to identify you as an owner and to entitle you to discounts at our Bars and Restaurants on property.
Owner's Meeting: Every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. we do have our Weekly Owners’ Meeting in the Conference Room, located on the second floor of the main building of the La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club. Complimentary Continental Breakfast Buffet is offered to all the owners and you can participate in the Owners' Raffle to win fabulous prizes, while being updated on the latest developments on the Island and at your Home Resort.
Annual General Meeting: Every July you will receive convocation material supplying you with financial information and a proxy vote to vote on the next year’s budget (Maintenance Fee). The General Meeting takes place in September and the invoices for the next maintenance fees are mailed out in October and are due December 15 of that same year. It is imperative that you as an owner make use of your right to vote by sending in your proxy voting sheet either by mail or fax. If you happen to be on property on the day of the meeting, you can register to attend and vote on the same day as well.
Maintenance Fee: Maintenance Fees are due every December 15 of the year prior to usage. For example, the 2008 maintenance fee is due December 15, 2007. If by November you have not received your bill, please contact our Maintenance Fee Department or visit our website to make sure your payment is send in on time. Not receiving an invoice is not a reason not to pay. All payments received after the due date automatically incur a late fee of 25%.
Room Renovation Special Assessment: Please make sure your room renovation special assessment is paid by April 1, 2008. All payments received after the due date automatically incur a late fee of 10%. For detailed information, please visit our website.
Change of Address: Remember to notify the Members Relations Department of your change of address, telephone number and e-mail address. To continue sending you important correspondence and updates, we need your correct information. Our preferred method of communication is by e-mail.
