REVISED OUT OF ORDER UNITS PENDING PROJECTS 2012 | SCAFFOLDING SCHEDULE

Now that our Room Renovation and Lobby Upgrade projects have been completed, La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club has embarked on the next phase of property renovations which includes several projects: Roof Top Renovation, Exterior Concrete Restoration & Painting of the Guest Room Buildings, Replacement of the handrails and balcony railings and more are the projects anticipated to last through March, 2013.

The Roof Top Renovation, which started in December 2011, is scheduled to be finished in September, 2012.

Another project that has started in March, 2012 and is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2012, is the exterior concrete restoration, coating and painting of the guest room buildings. This job requires setting up scaffolding in front of the rooms and pressure washing the walls, which may result in debris falling on the balcony and patio furniture. Our room attendants will be paying extra attention to the cleanliness of these areas to minimize the inconvenience that this may cause to our members and guests.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the material to be used for the replacement of the handrails, balcony railings and the ground floor units' store fronts, will not be on the island until July, 2012. Consequently, the initial schedule that we had published is no longer applicable. We have created a new schedule that can be used as reference for the correct dates that units will be out of order. According to the new plan, we will start with the balcony railings and ground floor units store front replacements in July, 2012 and is scheduled to be finished by March, 2013. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor units will be available for occupancy during the balcony railings replacements but will not have access to their balconies. However, the ground floor units that are scheduled to have their storefronts (complete front frame with door to the patio) replaced, will not be available for occupancy. Owners of units affected by this project are kindly requested to contact our Reservations department at owners@lacabanabrc.com for their options.

As anticipated by the Board, one of the most awaited for projects include the room and deck renovation of the ocean front suites (E & D units).  This extensive undertaking will affect usage of these units for certain time periods during 2012.  In total we have 16 ocean front units.  Renovation of the 8 units on the south side (Sunday to Sunday) will commence in May 2012 and finish by early October while the other 8 units on the north side (Saturday to Saturday) will be renovated early August and finalize by December 1st, 2012. We are including some architectural drawings, however, final product may differ.

Also on the pending projects list is the complete wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling renovation of the guest room tunnels. Due to the additional scope of work, which includes the complete replacement of the ceiling, ceiling lights, wall guard, carpet, changing the wall paint texture, adding light sconces, replacing the entrance doors to the corridors and climatizing these corridors, and for the safety of our valued members and guests, the rooms in these sections will remain unoccupied while renovations are ongoing. The South side corridors are being renovated between July and September, 2012 while the North side corridors are scheduled to be renovated between September and November, 2012. Please refer to the schedule for the units that will be out of order for this project.

Owners of the ground floor units, E & D Ocean Front units and all the units affected by the renovations will have the same options as the owners that were affected during the 3-year-room-renovation plan.  Therefore we urge all E & D Ocean Front unit owners and ground floor unit owners whose units will be affected, not to make airline reservations before contacting our Reservations department at owners@lacabanabrc.com to verify and or make use of the alternate options for their 2012 unit/week(s).

THE OPTIONS ARE:

1.    Deposit your week with Interval International. You can contact Interval International by telephone # 1-800-828-8200 or 1-305-666-1884 or visit their website: www.intervalworld.com
2.    Accept an Entitlement Certificate, which is valid for five (5) years from the start date of your week that was scheduled for renovation.
3.    Request an in-house exchange (re-location of unit or week). Please keep in mind that all confirmations are based on a space available basis, and there is no guarantee for your original unit type, location or view. To be able to request this option, your account with us has to be up to date.

Please pardon our noise and dust during construction. Our construction team is diligently working to minimize inconveniences as we enhance our resort for your enjoyment.
We thank you for your cooperation and patience while we undergo this second journey to rejuvenate La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club without stretching pending projects any further.
