We left on Saturday, April 21. Every day that week, they were using jackhammers to break up the concrete in the old Captain's Table. If they are only breaking up and excavating the floor, they are pretty far from from doing a lot of the necessary infrastructure. Can't think that they are very close if there is no floor yet.

Is there any management oversight for this project? And why would they put up with this slow pace? It shouldn't matter that they are paying rent. The RIU was built in less time than this. Maybe the contractors were confused and thought they were building Foxwoods. But then again Foxwoods was probably built quicker.

    Willie,

Thanks for the updates. I know that you get frustrated with owners that vent on these boards, but please understand that there is a high level of excitement in having an on property casino. (not walking back to the Trop, but actually leaving your room and having a beer and playing blackjack AT your resort!)

Any and all updates that you may have are greatly appreciated. I know that the casino is past schedule, and we all know taht construction projects in Aruba are on Aruba time, so this is nothing new. I was able to look at the excavation site during my visit last week, and everything is looking good... I can't wait for it to open, but we really know very little about the project. Any additional details?

Thanks again for all of your work, Nick

Using the weak excuse of "Aruba time" is such a cop-out. Just think of how much of the room renovation was done in the amount of time this contractor had to complete this casino project. Last July when I was there, this casino project was underway. I noticed a vacancies in the hallway where there used to be vendors. My guess is that when the casino is done, these vacant spaces would be more attractive to potential businesses. So getting this casino done in a timely manner makes a lot of sense to me. Not trying to frustrate anyone with my "vent". Some may be fine for this project to take a very long time. I respect your opinion. It just doesn't make sense, to me. Maybe someone from management can explain the delay. I'm still looking forward to my trip there this July. There is so much I like about LaCabana and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
