Hi Denise, we're heading down next week too, and look every day to see if some of our fellow owners posted a trip report, always disappointed though...with all the members, you think that someone would take the time to share their vacation at LBC with us!!! Oh well, I'll post my trip report when I get back, or perhaps even while I'm there, like I did last year!! We can't wait until we're back at LBC and Eagle beach!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all,
Just back yesterday. Lacabana is our 2nd home and we love it. However it was very crowded for weeks 8 and 9. Seemed more than previous years. Casino is no where near done. My guess maybe by the end of the summer. Pool and beach was great, seemed very windy this year. Weather was typical Aruba, sun, clouds, and a few drops of rain but nothing hampered the days. Best meals were Yamanji, Driftwood and Pinchos. Disappointed in Barefoot, and Madame Janette this year. Could have just been the night. All in All another great Aruba trip and we are sad it is over. Can't wait to get back!!!!
PS. Airport was crazy packed yesterday. Took 2 hours to get to US Customs.

We were there week 8 (Feb 25 to March 3). We are usually in Aruba the first two weeks in November.
I thought it was very windy compared to November - but was told the wind starts in February, gradually increases, and subsides by Easter. Huts were the BIG issue (again) - I was down at the beach by 5:15 am; people had huts reserved with towels and empty bags; security sproadically came around, tagged and the empty huts were left untouched; some people didn't come down until after 11 am (furniture was not even unlocked); I heard people "bragging" about leaving towels at 2 am and going back to their room to sleep - so the 'one hour' rule is not being enforced and it is the same people being inconsiderate (90% of your problems come from 10% of the people). All huts were gone by 6 am or so....so, if you want a hut, set your alarm! I made new friends at the beach so that was a plus! I still think written notice regarding the huts/tables policy should be given to guests at CHECK-IN at both LaCabana and the Tropicana (lots of people from Tropicana at the beach). Restaurants were great as usual - Chalet Swisse; Sunset Grille; Gianni's. The ocean was wonderful. Staff at LaCabana is CONSISTENTLY ONE OF THE BEST AROUND - FRONT DESK; BELLMEN; ROOM ATTENDANTS, ETC. No problem with Jet Blue. So, it was a great relaxing trip overall.
See you in November.
They should make a rule that nobody can get a hut prior to 6 A.M. How can you save a hut before 6 A.M. if nobody's even working them yet? If the guys working the beach huts get down there and see belongings at the huts before 6 A.M., they should remove them. Is that so difficult?
We all seem to forget that even though La Cabana built the huts they are on a public beach and ANYONE can use them. The La Cabana chairs cannot be used by anyone other than the people who are staying at La Cabana. I believe that the staff does not start to work until 7:00 AM. Based upon the above I guess that the early bird gets the huts.
Actually Herb, Unless things have changed, I believe they get there at 6 A.M. and just thought it was a good idea to weed out the inconsiderate ones who think that they can just plop their stuff at a hut at any hour and think it's theirs until they get there whenever. I think security starts at 7 A.M. I'm also well aware that ANYONE can use the huts.
we arrived yesterday sat jet blue great flight. So far poured coming out of airport woke up this am sun pouring rain till about 10 am
